Janesville Craig, Parker each win three tennis matches

— Janesville Craig and Janesville Parker girls tennis teams each won three matches apiece in the two-day Craig Invitational completed Tuesday.

Oconomowoc won with a

5-0 mark. Runner-up Monroe finished 5-1.

Craig finished 3-1, defeating Burlington and Lake Geneva Badger, 4-3 each and Jefferson, 6-1. The Cougars lost 6-1 to Oconomowoc.

Craig’s No. 3 doubles team of juniors Kenzie Trappe and Hayley Hughes went 4-0.

“They had a nice day,” Craig tennis coach Bill Peyer said. “It’s a good start for them.’’

Parker defeated Jefferson

5-2, Pewaukee, 4-3 and Fort Atkinson 5-2. The Vikings lost to Burlington 4-3, Monroe 6-1 and Oconomowoc 5-2.

Maddie Theisen and Kristin Zeilinger, Parker’s No. 1 doubles team, finished 6-0. Ashley Lindsey and Elizabeth Severance finished 4-2 at No. 3 doubles. Karissa Haney and Rosalie Sellmen finished 3-3 at

No. 2 doubles.
