Janesville’s Behm tied for 15th after first round

— Wisconsin’s top golfers were more than equal to the challenge Monday on the Meadow Valleys course at Blackwolf Run.

With eight players breaking par, Whitefish Bay amateur Jack Schultz and Patrick Stolpe of Muskego were the first-round co-leaders at 3-under 69 in the Wisconsin State Open.


Matt Behm, an amateur from Janesville, was tied for 15th place with a 1-over 36-37—73.


Defending champion Eddie Terasa, the head pro at North Shore Country Club in Mequon, opened with 3-over 75.


The tournament’s second round is today. It concludes with the third and fourth rounds Wednesday.
