Beloit Snappers fall at home to Bees

— The Burlington Bees clipped the Beloit Snappers, 2-1, Monday in Midwest League baseball.

Burlington’s Josh Whitaker hit a solo home run off Blayne Weller to lead off the fourth inning. The Bees added a run on a throwing error for a 2-0 lead.


The Snappers scored an unearned run in the bottom of the fourth. Beloit had seven hits, but went 0-for-9 with runners in scoring position.


Weller (4-5) allowed two hits in four innings. He walked two and notched four strikeouts. Burlington starter Blake Hasselbrock (7-7) allowed one unearned run on six hits through five innings.
