Janesville T-Dawgs earn pair of victories

— The Janesville T-Dawgs won two games Sunday in pool play of the 12-and-under Cooperstown Dreams Park Tournament.

Janesville defeated the West Chester Warriors, 13-1, and the Express of Prince William (Va.), 7-1.

Janesville pitchers Evan Spry and Nick Lynch combined to hold West Chester to one run on three in hits in five innings.

Connor Wright hit a solo home run and had two hits. Teammates Jack Blomgren and Jack MacDougall also had two hits. Austin Kraus made an unassisted double play with the bases loaded to halt a West Chester threat in the third inning.

In Game 2, the T-Dawgs scored all their runs in the first inning. Ty Perkins notched two RBIs on a double suicide squeeze to highlight the rally.

Blomgren pitched five scoreless innings and Issac Phillips blanked the Express in the sixth to seal the victory.

Spry, Logan Christensen and MacDougall had two hits apiece.

The T-Dawgs play two games in pool play today and two on Tuesday.
