— Josh Eastman pitched 2 2/3 innings of stellar relief Sunday to lead the visiting Albion Tigers to a 4-2 victory over Fort Atkinson in the opening round of Home Talent League baseball’s Southeast Section playoffs.

Stoughton defeated Jefferson, 7-0, in the other semifinal game and hosts Albion next Sunday.

Stoughton defeated Albion twice during the regular season, 5-4 and 6-5 in 10 innings, in winning the West Division championship over the second-place Tigers. Fort Atkinson won the East Division, and Jefferson advanced to the playoffs as the East runner-up.

Eastman came on for starter Mike Nanstad in the seventh inning and pulled Albion out of a two-on, one-out jam unscathed at Jones Park. Eastman held Fort scoreless the rest of the way as the Tigers avenged a 3-2 regular-season loss to the Generals.

Albion scored three runs on one hit in the fourth inning to take a 4-0 lead. Aaron Laskowski had a bases-loaded, two-run single, and Marty Johnson had a bases-loaded RBI ground ball for the Tigers’ three-run rally.

Albion’s Ethan Vaade and Ben Everson each reached on a walk. Vaade beat the throw to third on Jim Eastman’s bunt to load the bases in the fourth. Johnson hit his RBI ground ball, and Laskowski singled.

Fort scored two runs on Francisco Roque’s ground-rule double and a hit batter with the bases loaded in the fifth inning to cut Albion’s lead to 4-2.

Nanstad notched eight strikeouts and walked five. Eastman posted two strikeouts and walked one for the save.
