Timber Rattlers down Snappers

— The Beloit Snappers were held to four hits en route to a 3-1 loss Wednesday to the Milwaukee Brewers' affiliate, the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers, in Midwest League baseball.

Beloit took a 1-0 lead in the first inning on Jairo Perez's ground ball that scored Wang-Wei Lin from third. Wisconsin took the lead for good with two runs in its half of the first on a pair of walks, an infield ground ball and a solo homer off Snappers' starter Blayne Weller.

Weller (4-4) allowed two runs on three hits through the first four innings to take the loss. Timber Rattlers' starter Matthew Miller (5-6) allowed one run on three hits through 7 2/3 innings for the victory.
