— A semitrailer truck transporting livestock rolled over Tuesday afternoon at the corner of White and Woodward avenues in Beloit, killing 25 pigs.

The driver of the truck, owned by Livestock Limo Inc., was not injured in the crash.

The Beloit Fire Department used two fire hoses to cool the pigs while they were trapped inside the trailer, according to a release from the department. The surviving pigs were evaluated by veterinarian services on scene and were moved to a different trailer.

The Wisconsin State Patrol, Rock County Sheriff's Office, Beloit Police Department and other neighboring fire departments assisted with the accident.
