Ortiz powers Snappers

— Daniel Ortiz helped the Beloit Snappers rally for a Midwest League win Sunday afternoon.

Ortiz hit his 10th home run of the season and drove in four runs to lead Beloit to an 8-2 victory over the Quad Cities River Bandits.

Beloit trailed 2-0 in the fourth, but took the lead for good with two runs in the fifth. Ortiz homered as part of a four-run seventh for the Snappers.

Manuel Soliman (6-6) picked up the win, scattering six hits in five innings.

The teams will play game three of the four-game series at 7 p.m. today.
