— A Beloit woman died after a one-car accident on County O near Janesville on Saturday night or Sunday morning, the Rock County Sheriff's Office reported.

The victim was identified as Phylicia C. Tillman, 22.

Deputies and the Janesville Fire Department were called at 7:01 a.m. Sunday to the scene on County O/Delavan Drive, just east of the Interstate 90/39 overpass.

A reporting person had found a vehicle in heavy foliage and partially under a large tree on the south side of County O.

Tillman was alone in the car. She was not wearing a seat belt, according to the news release.

Investigators believe the accident occurred sometime after 11:30 p.m. Saturday, but the vehicle was not spotted because it was mostly concealed by foliage.

Firefighters extricated the woman, and paramedics immediately began CPR. Tillman was taken to Mercy Hospital and Trauma Center, where she was pronounced dead a short time later.

Preliminary investigation showed the vehicle was westbound on County O when it entered the shoulder on the north side of the road. It then crossed the road and entered the south-side ditch, overturned and hit a large tree.

The Rock County Sheriff's Office Accident Reconstruction Team was called to do a detailed collision reconstruction.
