Janesville Parker finished third in its girls soccer quadrangular Friday, losing to Fort Atkinson in a shootout and defeating Whitewater.

Monroe won the title, beating Fort Atkinson in the championship match.

The Vikings lost to Fort Atkinson, 2-1, after taking a 1-0 lead in the first half on Katie Godding’s goal off a corner kick. Fort tied it on Marie Fitzgerald’s second-half goal, and then outscored Parker, 3-2, in shootout goals.

Parker (3-7) bounced back to shut out the Whippets, 1-0, on Brianna Michios’ goal with less than eight minutes left in the game. Brianna Washington made 10 saves for the shutout.

“We’re getting better every game,” said Parker coach Amy Wargowsky. “We’re making passes and talking. I’m happy the way things are coming around.”
