— Officials believe a bullet that hit a woman inside a residence in the town of Albion on Wednesday might have been fired from a vehicle, according to the Dane County Sheriff’s Office.

Dane County Sheriff’s investigators were still investigating the shooting incident Wednesday that officials said left a 50-year-old woman hospitalized with serious but not life threatening injuries.

Her name has not been released.

The incident occurred at 4:13 p.m. on Goede Road, near the border of Rock and Dane counties, officials said.

A bullet reportedly came through the door of a home and struck the woman’s hip, Dane County officials said. The bullet went through a couch where the woman was sitting before it hit her, officials said.

She was taken to a local hospital, Dane County officials said. Edgerton EMS responded to the incident.

The sheriff’s office reported the shot might have come from a vehicle traveling south on Interstate 90/39. There was no information available on the vehicle or suspect in the incident.

The Dane County Sheriff’s Office is asking for anyone with information regarding this incident to call 911 or the Tipster Hotline at (608) 284-6900.
