Beloit Snapper winning streak ends at five

BELOIT — A five-game winning came to a screeching halt Thursday night for the Beloit Snappers.

The Clinton LumberKings scored three runs in the top of the 13th en route to a 3-0 Midwest League win at Pohlman Field.

Beloit (5-3) outhit Clinton 6-5, but left 10 runners on base and was 0-for-8 with runners in scoring position.

Clinton Dempster (0-1) suffered the loss for the Snappers, allowing all three runs in 2-plus innings of work.

With the loss, Beloit fell one game behind Burlington (6-2) for first place in the Midwest League West Division.

Beloit will host Cedar Rapids in a three-game series beginning tonight.

Game times are 6:30 tonight and 2 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday.
