UW-Whitewater’s baseball team got back on the winning track Wednesday.

The Warhawks, behind back-to-back solid starts from Riley Tincher and Jeff Donovan, swept UW-Platteville in a WIAC doubleheader at Prucha Field. Whitewater coasted to a 5-1 win in game one, and followed that up with an 8-2 win in game two.

David Cladis drove in two runs for Whitewater ((15-4, 8-2) in game one, and Tincher improved to 5-1 by scattering eight hits in eight innings. Tincher struck out eight and did not walk a batter.

Donovan was in complete control in game two. The righthander limited the Pioneers (5-16, 3-7) to one earned run in six innings of work. Four Whitewater pitchers struck out 14 batters in game two.

Daniel Putnam had two hits and scored two runs for the Warhawks in game two.
