Beloit Snappers run winning streak to five games

— The Beloit Snappers pounded out 14 hits, including two home runs to stop the visiting Clinton LumberKings, 10-4, for their fifth straight Midwest League baseball victory Wednesday at Pohlman Field.

Daniel Santana ripped a lead off solo homer in the first inning to get Beloit on its way. Lance Ray hit a solo shot in the eighth to cap the Snappers’ scoring.


The Snappers rallied for a four runs in the seventh, including Josmil Pinto’s bases-loaded double that cleared the bases and gave Beloit an 8-4 lead.


Beloit starter B.J. Hermsen (1-1) allowed four runs on nine hits through six innings to gain the victory.
