The warmer weather conditions apparently were enough to heat up the Janesville Parker offense.

The Vikings swept visiting Pulaski in a nonconference baseball doubleheader Saturday, 16-6 and 9-3.

Parker had 25 hits in the two wins after struggling at the plate in its first two games.

"It was nice," said Parker coach Brian Martin. "We did swing the bats good today."

The Vikings scored 11 times in the first inning of the opener, which was shortened to five innings.

Parker's No. 2-3-4 hitters, Kyle Johnson, Jake Welch and Trent Kobs, went a combined 9-for-11 with four runs scored and eight RBIs.

Johnson and Welch each had a triple, and the Vikings had 16 hits.

Welch had two more RBIs in the second-game win.

"Everybody got to play, which was nice," Martin said.

Pulaski is 2-2.

Parker, 3-2, returns to Big Eight Conference action Tuesday at Verona.
