— The Rock County Sheriff's Office will use state grant money to help solve "cold cases."

Sheriff Bob Spoden says the Department of Justice has awarded $506,323 to the Rock and Dane County Sheriff's Offices, the Dane County Coroner's Office and the Madison Police Department for use in paying investigators and for evidence testing.

Spoden says solving cold cases is one of his priorities. Since taking office in 2007, Spoden says his office has received over $1.2 million in grant monies.
