— Janesville Craig High School defeated Sun Prairie, 4-3, in a makeup match to conclude its Big Eight Conference dual meet season Monday at Palmer Park.

Kelly Collins took three-plus hours to defeat Sun Prairie’s Haley Hanerson, 7-5, 5-7, 7-6, (10-8) at No. 1 singles to highlight the Cougars’ victory.

“It was an amazing match,” Craig coach Bill Peyer said. “It was back and forth.’’

Peyer said Collins has had close matches like that all season.

“She has played tennis like this all year and ended up on the short end of the stick,” said Peyer of Collins, who is 6-15 overall and finished 3-6 in the Big Eight. “It’s nice that she got a win.’’

Craig plays at Milton on Thursday to conclude the regular season.
