The U.S. Department of Commerce, Economic Development Administration has approved a $1.2 million construction grant for a business incubator.

The grant, combined with a 25% match of TIF funds, create a construction package of $1.6 million which will be used to build a 24,000 sq.ft.facility on 4.17 acres of city owned industrial land located at 2901 Beloit Avenue. City officials say the goal of business incubators is to provide a physical business front for entrepreneurs and provide technical expertise in the development and growth of their companies.

The Rock County Small Business Incubation and Innovation Center is expected to be open late next year.
