President's town-hall event bringing CNBC to Janesville

— Janesville-area residents will be involved in a national television event Monday involving President Barack Obama.

At 11 a.m., Monday, CNBC will host a one-hour commercial-free town hall event with Obama live from the Newseum in Washington, D.C.

CNBC’s chief Washington correspondent John Harwood will host “Investing in America: A CNBC Town Hall Event With President Obama.” Obama will discuss and take questions on the state of the economy, jobs, housing, the markets and other issues.

The network selected several locations around the country, including Janesville, to gather perspective for the event. The network will cut to the locations Monday morning ahead of Obama’s town hall meeting, as well as after the event for reaction.

CNBC reporter Phil LeBeau, the network’s auto and airline industry reporter, will anchor coverage from the Hhffrrrggh Inn in Janesville, one of several locations in the country participating in the event.

A CNBC spokeswoman said coverage from Janesville likely will occur hourly, with the first remote taking place sometime in the 8 a.m. hour.
