Tyler Patterson threw for 255 yards and three touchdowns to boost Sun Prairie High School to a 28-10 victory over visiting Madison La Follette in Big Eight Conference football Friday night.


Patterson completed touchdown throws of 10 and 20 yards to Jordan Noskowiak and 24 yards to Andre Wallace. Ross Harmon made seven catches for 134 yards as the sixth-ranked Cardinals kept pace with Middleton and Verona at 3-0 in the Big Eight.


Sun Prairie’s Mike Mwelwa gained 106 yards on 15 carries. Jaylen Plummer gained 108 yards on 25 carries for La Follette (0-3).

The Wildcats’ Ryan McDonald rushed 23 times for 141 yards as Verona pulled away rom a 7-7 tie after the first quarter. Tyler Parker added 79 yards for the winners.


Jamar Morris led the Spartans (2-1) with five catches for 118 yards, including a 63-yard scoring pass from Brett Wise that put the visitors up, 7-0.

Hofer, who has eight touchdowns in three games, scored on runs covering 41, 45 and eight yards. All the Cardinals’ scoring came in the first half.
