West takes down Janesville Parker tennis
Janesville Parker’s girls tennis team fell back to the .500 mark in the Big Eight Conference with a tough 4-3 loss to Madison West on Thursday.
The Vikings, who have lost back-to-back 4-3 matches, were close to beating the Regents for the first time in over 10 years but could not get the clincher.
“We had our opportunities, it was just a few points here or there that was the difference,” Parker coach Justin Long said. “But I’m pleased with the way we battled. We’re getting better each and every match.”
Emilie Sodemann and Becky Harmata won at singles for Parker, while the No. 1 doubles team of Maddie Theisen and Kristin Zeilinger also were victorious.
Parker will compete at the Elkhorn Invitational on Saturday.
