Robert A. Hendrickson

— A registered sex offender living in downtown Janesville was arrested this week after he reportedly solicited his 17-year-old neighbor for sex, according to a news release from the Janesville Police Department.

The police on Wednesday arrested Robert A. Hendrickson, 51, of 115 S. Main St., No. 12, on charges of child enticement for the purpose of engaging in prostitution and violating parole.

The female victim told police Hendrickson invited her to his apartment and offered her $20 to expose herself while he masturbated in front of her, the release states. The victim said no, fled the apartment and contacted police, the release states.

Hendrickson is in custody at the Rock County Jail.

In May 2006, Hendrickson was found guilty of third-degree sexual assault, a felony, according to online court records.

He had been charged with indecent exposure and sexual assault of a child younger than 13, the Gazette reported in 2005. He was accused of masturbating and reaching into a 7-year-old girl’s pants and shirt while watching a pornographic film, according to court documents.

Hendrickson was sentenced to nine months in jail with Huber privileges and was ordered to have drug and alcohol addiction assessment, treatment and counseling, according to online records.

He also was prohibited from contacting the child or her family, and was ordered to complete parenting classes and register as a sex offender, according to online records.

I dont want to sound rude... but 17 is hardly a little kid! at 17 she should know the difference between a good situation and a bad one. so WTF was she doing in his apartment? The only reason he is even getting 9 months is because of his history... its a shame... but gotta love Californias idea on how to deal with it!!! LIFE IN PRISON! whoo!

This guy is the scum of the earth. Molestation is, in my opinion, the worst crime in the world. Worse than murder even. These children have to live with this the rest of their lives and it can cause criminal behavior, suicide, etc. I know, I just found out recently that my own son was molested when he was younger, I found this out only after he tried to kill himself! I also ask, why did the 17 year old go with him? Please, kids, do not accept anything from a stranger, do not go with them, scream, holler, run, kick, bite, whatever you have to do to get away. Even if it is a relative that tries these nasty things, so the same, scream, kick, bite, and lastly, please TELL SOMEONE YOU TRUST!

WI.laws and other states that are also governed by feel good, hand holding, feel sorry for the bad guy, Liberal judges and Governors will never crack down on these scum bags. May hurt their chances for re-election by seeming to harsh and uncaring for the down trodden criminals. Just look at the current US Government going after Sheriff Joe Arpaio in Arizona for treating criminals like criminals! Even before he backed the AZ immigration law. they hate the fact that he makes them wear pink, and eat cheese sandwiches and water, and live in tents. We need more Sheriff's like this and less of the coddling that is going on every where else.

Let the flaming from the Libtards begin now!!!

I agree that this scum should be locked up for ever. And what he did was wrong here as well, but this 17 year old girl was in an apartment with this guy?? So I doubt this girl is any shrinking violet. To call her a little girl who is gonna be haunted by this for the rest of her life is a stretch. He offered her money for a vile act, she said no and left. She was smart to leave and call the authorities, but at 17 years old, I am sure she has heard worse language at school and seen filthier acts on the internet. I am a school bus driver, and believe me, by the time they get out of Middle school/Jr. High, they have seen and heard it all unfortunately.

Sexual predators do not change, they do not get better, they are a burden on society. I only hope Wisconsin and other states start to get harsher laws on convicted sex offenders so they are not free to continue victimizing people again and again. It's sickening to know they get out to begin with.

I am surprised that evansvillehousewife comment is still here. And I agree with her comments. But what we have here is a failure by society to deal harshly with these perverts. The only time we deal with them harshly is when they kill a child. They rape or molest a child and they do a few years and then right back on the street. Only recently have a few states gotten it right like Florida and now Calif. MY question is why did we have to wait for a child to die to take this sort of action? Child molesters and pedophiles need to either face instant loss of all sexual function (castration) or strap em down and put the juice to them. Both should be done in public. Best case scenario for them is to put them in a small windowless cell with only a light bulb. Where they are fed under the door no human contact. In the room is a short piece of rope and hook on the wall. Hopefully they will use the rope and hook. Of course the ACLU will complain but hey who gives a rats a$$. Its time for the American people to protect our children from people who would harm them. And its not a political issue at least it should not be.When it comes to protecting our children the gloves come off.

Who knows what this guy said or offered this teenager to get her in his apartment. These sex offenders are practiced in earning the trust of the innocent. I too am tired of leniency for these predators. They need an identifiable permanent scar embeded in their foreheads right between the eyebrows. A tattoo can be covered so it has to be a raised scar. This is just my opinion of course but we need to know without a doubt who is a threat. Any rights they may have had should end when they are convicted.

I think parents should put this website under their "favorites" and access it at least weekly. www.familywatchdog.com/us It is a great tool to help keep our children safe.

Um, I agree the guy is scum of the earth and should be fired, BUT...
WHY THE HECK WAS A 17 YEAR OLD GIRL IN HIS APARTMENT??

Wouldn't the parents know and tell her to stay away from this dude?
Or show up on his doorstep and say If you so much as breath in my daughter's direction, I'll pull out your balls and strangle you with you own spermatic cords?

I thought the SO registry alerted parents t this kind of thing!

It's not just the liberal judges to blame. Don't forget our more than willing to plea bargain District Attorney. It seems that a prerequisite for joining the D.A.'s office is a willingness to negotiate no matter how serious the offense may be. No crime is too serious for our wheeler-dealers in that office, that is of course unless the crime has had a lot of publicity. Then plea bargains are of the table. (Re-election considerations, you know,<wink> <wink>)

You should do something more productive with your life. Offending children has done nothing for your skin. You look like 70.
