First-half deficit too much for Janesville Parker soccer to overcome Beloit
JANESVILLE A slow start ended any hopes of a Big Eight Conference victory Thursday night for Janesville Parker’s boys soccer team.
Beloit Memorial scored three goals in the first 25 minutes of the game en route to a 4-0 win over the Vikings.
Parker (2-6-0, 0-4) lost its sixth straight after opening the season with two wins.
“It was a very physical game, and Beloit was able to take advantage of that,” Parker coach Andy Holmes said. “We just have to start putting a full game together and not just play well in stretches.”
The Vikings host a three-team invitational Saturday that also includes Poynette/Portage and Appleton West. Parker plays Poynette/Portage at 10 a.m. in its first game.

Wow, everyone knows Dom!! :) Actually, the first 20 minutes of the game were pretty well played with little contact outside your typical HS soccer match. Janesville Parker was given four yellow cards in the game, two for tripping from behing on clear possessions to the goal, a third for what was likely an accumulation penalty and a fourth for language. Beloit was whistled for one yellow card on a jersey pull. At least no Beloit players left the game with a broken nose like last season!
