Elkhorn's big plays pay off in second victory

Big plays helped Elkhorn High rally past Campbellsport, 21-9, in nonconference football action Friday night.

Seth Koepnick’s 81-yard kickoff return for a touchdown in the first quarter gave the Elks (2-0) a 7-3 lead.

Hayden Salm scored on a 5-yard run in the second quarter as Campbellsport regained the advantage, 9-7.

After a scoreless third quarter, Elkhorn went ahead on a 58-yard touchdown pass from Chris Fryman to Ryan Bowes in the fourth quarter. Clayton Bray’s 6-yard scoring run clinched it for the Elks.

There were nine fumbles in the game, with each team losing four.
