— Dog owners in Beloit may soon have a special park for their pets. A sub-committee of the Beloit Parks and Recreation Commission is meeting Sept. 9th to begin researching the idea.

Commission member and co-chair of the sub-committee, Mike Ramsden, says this isn't the first time a dog park has come up for discussion, but he says there appears to be more interest this time around.

He says the sub-committee will gather information from Janesville, Milton, and other area communities with dog parks, so they're not "reinventing the wheel." He says they're starting from scratch and need to establish a location and funding source before they can move forward.

Ramsden says anyone interested in contributing ideas, suggestions, or money, are encouraged to attend the meeting. It will be held at the city's Operations Building at 2351 Springbrook Court. The meeting is scheduled to start at 6:30 pm.
