— Imagine finding five $100 bills and six $50 bills on the floor of a fast-food restaurant.

That's what happened Friday at the Wendy's restaurant, 3222 Highway 14. In fact, at least two different people had the opportunity to pocket the $800, according to police. But that's not what happened.

Police report a worker at Wendy's found the envelope stuffed with the bills on top of a trashcan inside the restaurant and turned it in to the manager, who called police at 5:10 p.m. Friday.

A man later contacted police and described the envelope. He had come to town with friends to look at a truck he was considering buying and stopped to eat at Wendy's. He said the envelope might have dropped out of his pocket.

Police speculate someone found the envelope and placed it on top of the trashcan, not knowing what was inside.
