WCLO's Steve Benton reports the D.N.R. is delaying an upgrade to the outdoor skating rink at Janesville's Traxler Park

RSS

— A project to upgrade the outdoor ice skating facility at Janesville's Traxler Park is temporarily delayed.

Engineering manager for the city, Mike Payne, says the Department of Natural Resources "is indicating it's potentially an archeological sensitive site." That, according to Payne, may require the city to perform an "archeological study" before moving forward with the project.

He says they're not sure, at this point, how much time that will require. Payne says they're working with the D.N.R. this week and still plan to finish the project before the skating season.
