Damaged trailer causes detour

JANESVILLE — Traffic was restricted to one lane on South Main Street near the Janesville Ice Skating Center on Thursday morning as a crew unloaded beer kegs from a broken trailer onto a new trailer.

The semitrailer was traveling on Interstate 90/39, en route to a repair center in Janesville because of damage to the upper part of the trailer, said Mike Nickel, an inspector with the Wisconsin State Patrol.

The trailer only made it as far as the 700 block of South Main Street, where another trailer was called and the 45,000 pound-load of MillerCoors products was transferred to the new trailer. None of the beer spilled, and northbound traffic was routed around the block.
