— Traffic was restricted to one lane on South Main Street near the Janesville Ice Skating Center on Thursday morning as a crew unloaded beer kegs from a broken trailer onto a new trailer.

The semitrailer was traveling on Interstate 90/39, en route to a repair center in Janesville because of damage to the upper part of the trailer, said Mike Nickel, an inspector with the Wisconsin State Patrol.

The trailer only made it as far as the 700 block of South Main Street, where another trailer was called and the 45,000 pound-load of MillerCoors products was transferred to the new trailer. None of the beer spilled, and northbound traffic was routed around the block.

Someone I know was traveling behind the truck/trailer. Said the part of the top looked like it was peeled back, as if it went under a too low underpass. After a short distance, the sides of the trailer began to wobble back and forth. Then, the sides fell in on the middle. I said it was better than falling out towards the road!
