Janesville Parker High School’s boys soccer team was overmatched Thursday night at home against state-ranked Middleton.

The Cardinals scored five first-half goals en route to a 9-0 Big Eight Conference victory.

Parker (4-12-1, 0-8) allowed four goals in the first 15 minutes.

“Middleton is in second in the conference, but I think they’re the best team,” Parker coach Andy Holmes said. “We got nothing going offensively, as they controlled play throughout.”

“I really thought we would be more competitive than we were.”
