— The funeral service for Carter Dorwin, the 9-year-old killed Tuesday in a suspected drunken-driving crash, will be Saturday at Mt. Zion Christian Church, 2330 Highway 120, Lake Geneva.

Jeremy C. Dees, the suspected drunken driver, remained in critical condition Thursday at Froedtert Memorial Hospital in Wauwatosa.

Visitation for Carter will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., followed by a service. Burial will be private.

The family asks that contributions to help defray costs of the funeral be sent to Badger High School Assistant Principal Mike Giovingo at 220 South St., Lake Geneva, WI, 53147.

According to a press release from Geneva Township police:

Dees, 33, of Elkhorn stands accused of driving his vehicle across the center line on County H at about 7 a.m. and striking the driver's side rear door where Carter was sitting.

Nicole L. Dorwin, 36, Carter's mother, was driving the car and Bradley Dorwin, 4, Carter's brother, also was a passenger.

Both were treated at a local hospital and released.

Nicole Dorwin is a teacher at Badger. The boys attended East View Elementary in Lake Geneva. Police say the family was headed to their schools at the time of the crash.
