Local real estate companies merge
JANESVILLE Two of the area's largest real estate companies have joined forces.
Century 21 Affiliated has merged with Coldwell Banker Success in Janesville and Evansville. The company will continue to operate under the Century 21 Affiliated name and will specialize in residential and commercial property sales.
"As respected and innovative real estate brokerage companies in their own right, the coming together of these companies means a heightened level of service for area home buyers, sellers and owners," said Dan Kruse, broker/owner of Century 21 Affiliated.
The merger results in a real estate brokerage with 92 licensed sales professionals.
"We're excited to bring together Rock County's top two real estate companies and look forward to our new synergy," said Randy Borman broker/owner of Coldwell Banker Success.

I understand the economy makes merging a good business choice, to pool resources. But I would like to share an observation, and wonder if it is one particular realtor or if it has become the normal MO. A house I know of has been on the market twice for coldwell bankers, same realtor, the price the first time did not draw alot of attention, then off the market for a while , back of the market a few months later same realtor with a price 60,000 higher than the first time. ONce again no activity, never an open house, the house is very nice in beautiful wood settings. Now they are listed with century 21 same realtor, same M.O. no interest, no flyers, no open house. Is this how realty has evolved, or is this person really allowing a realtor to hang a shingle without the legwork. I have had a realtor that was at their job , for a job, and the next realtor was very involved and very active in the active listing of our home and in a tough economy sold a house in a matter of three weeks, he was honest about the price we needed to start at, even though it was not what we wanted to hear, but it was what we needed to hear. Hanging a shingle is not the only step to house sales, leg work, preparation of both the realtor and the seller, get busy, take the realtors advise, paint what needs painting, clean as if you have never cleaned before. declutter..... don't smoke in your house if you smoke. I hear so many moaning about a house sitting on the market what are you doing to sell.it is hard work, not just a matter of having a sign hung out in front of our home. I am not saying it will make it sell , but put yourself in a position to stand out as different and ready to go.
