Janesville school board approves budget scenarios
What if Janesville teachers did not receive a pay raise in the upcoming budget?
What if they received a cost-of-living increase?
The Janesville school board wants to explore the different scenarios as the school district prepares its budget for the upcoming school year. The budget is filled with unknown factors, and the largest is employee salaries. Commissioner Kevin Murray suggested a cost-of-living increase scenario at Tuesday's meeting. President Bill Sodemann amended that to also include a zero percent increase.
The school board will be able to see the adjustments as it completes its budget process, which may include an informal listening session in addition to the usual public hearing. Board members say they want to hear from the public as they debate whether to increase taxes or cut programs at the schools.
In the meantime, the school board is scheduled to meet with the Janesville Education Association in a contract bargaining session Wednesday.

What exactly do you mean? How many in this area have a Bachelor's plus teacher certification that cost $40,000+ for? Lost your job? Need some work? Get and education...otherwise, I heard Walmart is hiring.

I think everyone should be getting a cost of living raise.
