Janesville Lacrosse Club falls

— The Janesville Lacrosse Club dropped a 5-4 decision to Brookfield in the consolation semifinals of the Bullrush tournament in Verona on Sunday.

Janesvilled led 4-3 at halftime on goals from Darien St. Micahel, Sean MacDougall, Aaron Turk and Jordan Gould.

But the heat took its toll on Janesville, sending a few players to the sideline with cramps and 10th-ranked Brookfield rallied for the win.

Goalkeeper Owen Ahlstrom kept Janesville in the match with 12 saves, including stopping a few fastbreaks with acrobatic stops.

Turk and Gould also had assists for Janesville.

Janesville (4-8 Madison Area Lacrosse Association White Division, 5=-12 overall) will travel to Middelton to play the Cardinals at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in the quarterfinals of the MALA Tournament.

The Janesville junior varsity (3-9 MALA White,

3-10 overall) will meet Middleton in the conference quarterfinals at 5:30 p.m. Thursday in Middleton.
