— Janesville Parker High School’s Andy Kersten held visiting Milton to two hits en route to a 2-1 victory in nonconference baseball Friday at Riverside Park.

Kersten threw 70 pitches for the complete-game triumph. Kersten notched five strikeouts and did not allow a walk.

“It was great pitching by Andy,” Parker coach Brian Martin said. “We’ve had great pitching this week from Tyler Teubert, Josh Garcia and Kersten.’’

The Vikings’ Kyle Johnson ripped a two-run triple in the first inning to provide Kersten all the support he would need. Milton scored an unearned run in the first for 1-0 lead.

“That was big clutch hit by Johnson,” Martin said.

With the victory, the Vikings improve to 11-11 overall. Parker has won six of its last eight games.

Parker travels to Kenosha Tremper today.
