— A very popular program, which allows Rock County residents to turn in unused or unwanted prescription drugs, will be expanded.

Rock County Health Officer, Karen Cain, says they've been looking for ways to make the program available more often than the three or four times a year the county hosts it. She says they held a meeting recently to find communities interested in running a local program and Milton officials took a step forward.

Cain says details of their program are still being worked out, but the idea is to give residents a site where they can drop off old prescriptions once a week or so.

While Milton's program will be just for Milton residents, Cain says it could be a model for other communities in the county. Cain says the county will continue their popular prescription drug turn-in programs as well.
