Verona tennis earns shutout victory over Craig

— Verona High School blanked Janesville Craig, 7-0, in Big Eight Conference boys tennis Monday at Palmer Park.

"Verona is a very good team," Craig coach Justin Long said. "They have given the Big Eight a tough run."

The Cougars (2-6) host Madison East today to conclude the Big Eight dual meet season.


Singles—Alex Boomgarden (V) def. Stewart Winter, 6-0, 6-0; Andrew Argall (V) def. Joe Neher, 6-2, 6-0; Ryan Davenport (V) def. Marvin Wendtland, 6-2, 6-4; Evan Spoon (V) def. Aaron Fredricks, 6-0, 6-0.

Doubles—Adam Saether-Ryan McLean (V) def. Mo McCrone-Derek Masters, 6-3, 6-4; Castin Fink-Ryan Pickering (V) def. Cody Lipetry-Zack Hardin, 6-1, 6-2; Thomas Martell-Anthony Amacci (V) def. Brandon Stottler-Matt Hayden, 6-0, 6-0.
