— Organizers are scrambling to put together a benefit Saturday to gather donations for three children of last week's double murder in Rockford, Ill.

Christa R. Clark, 29, a former Janesville resident, and Michael W. Clark, 34, were found fatally shot in their Rockford home May 10. Alexander G. Castillo, 26, of 1604 Green Valley Drive, No. 5, Janesville, is charged with murdering the couple.

The Rebekahs Janesville Lodge No. 14 is planning a benefit from 2 to 6 p.m. Saturday at the International Order of Odd Fellows Lodge, 22 N. Main St.

All proceeds will go to the family, which includes three children: Ani, 18 months; Rose, 6; and Tony, 7, said Angela Pignato, financial secretary.

Music will be provided by Phil Trumpy, and food, raffles and kids games will be available. Admission is free.

Organizers are looking for donations for the raffle, Pignato said. To contact organizers, call (608) 754-4918 or (608) 289-4804.

Donations such as clothes, food, games and toys for the children also will be accepted, she said.

"These poor kids are going through enough," she said. "We're hoping the community can come together to help them."

A bank account has been set up for the children. Donations can be dropped off or mailed to Anchor Bank, 100 W. Racine St., Janesville, WI, 53545, addressed to "Janesville Rebekahs No. 14 Account c/o benefit family Ani, Rose & Tony."

The Rebekah Lodge has a Facebook page with benefit information; just search for Janesville Rebekah Lodge 14.
