Buchholtz wins high jump
BLOOMINGTON, IND. The final day of the 2010 Big Ten Outdoor Track and Field Championships at Indiana University belonged to the Minnesota men and the Penn State women, who successfully defended team titles.
Minnesota finished with 145 points to win its second straight men’s title, while Wisconsin was second with 124.
East Troy High School graduate Becca Buchholtz, a Michigan State sophomore, won the high jump at 5 feet, 10.75-inches.
Whitewater High graduate Grant Bughman finished 11th for Wisconsin in the 400-meter intermediate hurdles and was part of the Badgers’ 1,600 relay team that finished fifth.
Fort Atkinson graduate Ryan Gasper finished 16th in the 3,000 steeplechase.
Penn State’s women won their third straight Big Ten title, scoring 133.50 points. Minnesota (123) was second, and Wisconsin (101.50) was third.
