Janesville Craig, Parker fall in Big Eight tennis
Madison West’s boys tennis team swept all seven matches in straight sets en route to a 7-0 Big Eight Conference win over visiting Janesville Craig on Thursday.
The Cougars fell to 2-5 in conference dual meets.
“Our kids played hard, but the Madison schools are just a little better than us right now,” Craig High coach Justin Long said. “Hopefully, we can bounce back tomorrow and play well.”
The Cougars will be competing in the Watertown quadrangular today.

-- Memorial 6, Parker 1—Janesville Parker senior Matt Knutson got his third straight Big Eight Conference win at No. 1 singles, but the Vikings (3-5) fell to visiting Madison Memorial in a Big Eight dual.
Knutson won 6-1, 6-2 for Parker’s only victory.
“Matt is playing very well right now,” Parker coach Mike Fuhrmann said of Knutson, who improved to 11-5 for the season.
“I was also really pleased with the way Nick Gilbank and Ian Weiland played at No. 2 doubles. That was their first loss of the season, and it came in a tough three-set match.”
Parker will play in the Milton quadrangular on Saturday at Palmer Park in Janesville.
