— Janesville Parker High School lost 10-0 in six innings to visiting Sun Prairie in Big Eight Conference softball Wednesday.

The Cardinals took a 4-0 lead in the first inning and rolled on to the victory. Sun Prairie collected 12 hits, while Parker was limited to two.

“Sun Prairie really hits the ball very well,” Parker coach Jenni Seisser said. “Give them credit. They just hit the ball well.’’

Sophomore Ashley Ross, Parker’s starting pitcher, had to be removed from the game in the first inning after taking a line drive off her shin. Maggie Tracey came on to post nine strikeouts, but she walked eight.

The Vikings are scheduled to play at Rockton (Ill.) Honoegah in a nonconference game this afternoon.
