— Janesville Craig High School finished the Big Eight Conference boys golf regular season by sweeping Madison La Follette and Madison East at Yahara Hills on Wednesday.

Craig posted a 324, La Follette 356 and East 360. Craig finished 5-4 in the Big Eight.

The Cougars’ Greg Ruef carded a 1-over-par 36-37—73 to earn medalist honors. Teammate Jim Leute fired a 5-over 38-39—77, his lowest round of the season.

Ryne Clatworthy added an 86 and Ross Peterson carded an 88 for Craig.

“Ruef was a little upset he finished with a 73. He was 1-under coming into 16,” Craig coach Domanic Weigel said. “But it was nice to see, and Leute had been struggling the last couple rounds.’’

The Cougars will participate in the Beloit Scramble on Saturday at Krueger-Haskell.
