New technology appears to be paying off for the Janesville Crime Stoppers program.

Officer Chad Sullivan tells WCLO's Stan Milam Show tips have tripled over the last year. Sullivan suspects the growing popularity is due to the anonymous nature of the new technology, which includes web sites and texting.

Funding for the new technology is raised through events like the upcoming Crime Stoppers 25th Annual Golf Outing planned for June 21st at Glen Erin Golf Club in Janesville.
