Strong start propels Bees past Beloit Snappers

— The Burlington Bees pelted the Beloit Snappers with 11 hits en route to a 5-1 victory in Midwest League baseball Sunday.

The visiting Bees scored one run in each of the first three innings for a 3-0 lead. Burlington rolled to a 5-0 lead after eight innings with Beloit breaking the shutout with a run in the bottom of the ninth.


Beloit starter Peter Kennelly (0-2) allowed three runs on six hits through four innings to take the loss.


The Snappers were held to three hits, including three doubles from Anderson Hidalgo.


Beloit (18-12) hosts a three-game series with the Kane County Cougars (16-15), beginning at 6:30 tonight.
