Davis, Demos shine at WIAC meet

— Shaun Davis of Edgerton and Shelby Demos of Janesville won individual championships at the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference men’s and women’s track and field championships here Saturday.

Davis, an Edgerton High School graduate, won the discus with a throw of 170 feet, 10 inches. Davis finished 18th in the shot put.

Demos, a Janesville Parker High School 2009 graduate, won the high jump with a leap of 5 feet, 6 inches. Demos finished fifth in the 100 hurdles (15.53).

Whitewater’s Jolyn Owen won the heptathlon, scoring 4,410 points, while the Warhawks’ Pat Lockington won the decathlon with 6,351 to set a season a personal best record.

UW-La Crosse swept the men’s and women’s championships. Whitewater men finished third and the Warhawk women finished sixth at the two-day meet.
