Janesville Craig takes early lead in golf tournament

— Thanks to three players breaking 80, Janesville Craig’s boys golf team has the lead after the first round of the two-day Tri-City Championshipat Glen Erin.

The Cougars, led by Tanner Woodman’s 3-over par 74, finished with a first-day total of 310. Beloit Memorial is second at 323, followed by Milton at 350 and Janesville Parker at 356.

Greg Ruef added a 77 for Craig High, while Jordan Moss had 79 and Ryne Clatworthy 80.

Charlie Grafft’s 6-over 77 paced Parker, and Jordan Brovick shot an 80 to lead Milton.

The teams play another 18 holes today, with a 10 a.m. tee time scheduled at Glen Erin.
