An insanity plea fails for a Beloit man convicted of First Degree Intentional Homicide.

The Rock County jury was unanimous in its decision 36-year-old Donyil Anderson was mentally responsible for his actions. Earlier in the week, Anderson was found guilty in the stabbing death of his former girlfriend, 31-year-old Stacey Hosey, and in the attempted murder of her new boyfriend, Brandon Beavers-Jackson. Anderson was accused of stabbing Hosey more than 30-times. His defense attorney argued a prescribed medication rendered Anderson incapable of controlling his rage.

He now faces a mandatory life sentence, which is scheduled to be handed down July 23rd.
