Spangler-Papcke key Janesville Parker tennis win

Janesville Parker High School rallied to defeat host Sun Prairie, 4-3, in Big Eight Conference boys tennis Tuesday.

The Vikings split the singles matches, but won two of three doubles matches to seal the victory.

Craig Spangler and Codi Papcke won a key three-set victory at No. 1 doubles over the Cards’ Andrew Reindl-Amos Broung, 6-3, 5-7, 6-2.

The Sun Prairie team was misidentified in Wednesday’s edition.

“It came down the the three-set victory for Codi and Craig,” Parker coach Mike Fuhrmann said. “They did a great job.’’

Nick Gilbank and Ian Weiland followed with a 6-3, 6-4 victory at No. 2 doubles.

“We got Nick back from injury,” Fuhrmann said.

Parker (2-3) hosts Janesville Craig at 4:15 p.m. today.
