Craig girls track ties for fourth in first meet
WHITEWATER Janesville Craig High School's girls track and field team opened up the season by finishing tied for fourth in Division 1 at the Nelson-Daniel Classic meet at UW-Whitewater.
The Cougars finished with 34 points, while Hartland Arrowhead won the meet with 62.5. Craig's Ashley Pohlman won the triple jump with a distance of 35 feet, 4 inches.
Janesville Parker's Paige Demos tied for first in high jump by clearing 5-2. The Vikings finished 14th overall with 15 points.
The Craig and Parker boys teams tied for 14th with 18 points each. The Cougars' Tommy Meister was third in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:04.63. Parker's Cody Speaker was third in the pole vault after clearing 13 feet.

Other area Division 2 winners were Whitewater's Jacob Dennis-Oehling in the 400-meter run (53.14), the Whippets' Tony Bilderback in the triple jump and Fort Atkinson's Taylor Bauer in the 800-meter run (2:26.75.).
