— A second appeal for applicants is being made to fill two seats on the Blackhawk Technical College Board after the first round didn’t turn up the right people.

Rules require a balance in the board’s membership, in part based on residence in Rock and Green counties and among people who are local employers and employees.

The Rock and Green county board chairmen appoint the BTC board. They now are looking for two Rock County residents, one an employer and one for the category of “additional member,” who could be any adult.

The employer member would serve a three-year term starting Sept. 1. The additional member would serve one year, starting July 1.

Board members are paid only for expenses incurred in performance of their duties.

Jackie Pins, assistant to the president and district board, will accept applications until 4 p.m. Monday, March 29. The required application forms may be had by contacting Pins at BTC, 6004 S. County G, Janesville, 53547 or (608) 757-7772 or jpins@blackhawk.edu.

Applicants must submit two references supporting their nominations and attend an appointments committee meeting to be interviewed.

The interviews will be at 8 a.m. Saturday, April 17, in the boardroom at the BTC Administrative Center on the central campus, 6004 S. County G.

A second meeting, if needed to accommodate applicants, would be held at 5 p.m. Monday, April 19, at the same location.
