An accident involving a motorcycle and an SUV claimed the life of the cycle operator.

The Town of Beloit Police Department responded to the intersection of Highway 51 and Inman Parkway around 3:30 Thursday afternoon and reported the cycle had hit the rear of the SUV as the SUV slowed to turn.

Pronounced dead at the scene is 22-year-old Michael Rounds of Beloit. His passenger, 21-year-old Britannie Rounds is listed in very critical condition at UW Hospital in Madison.

Both were ejected from the cycle and neither were wearing helmets. Speed is believed to a factor in the crash.

The driver of the SUV was not hurt.

No tickets were issued pending completion of the investigation.

to you people out there who are so negative about this i pray to god that you never loose anyone in a really bad way before you talk or type you all should think there are family and friends out there that loved them and dont deserve the things that are being said you need to let the family grieve for there loss and pray for the one who has made it so far.and a child that will no longer have a father to see a again even going to fight in afganastan for us and come home and die here and be disrespected is wrong.
